This policy explains how SellYouriMac ("SellYouriMac", "we") collects and uses information when you use sellyourimac.com or sell us a device. We only operate in the United States.
Information we collect
- Device details you enter in the quote tool: model, configuration, condition, functionality, accessories and eligibility answers.
- Contact and payout details when you accept a quote: name, email, phone (optional), ZIP code, state and your chosen payment method. We collect the account details needed to pay you only when payment is arranged.
- Messages and files you send through our contact or bulk forms.
- Technical data: a one-way hash of your IP address for spam and abuse prevention, and, if enabled, analytics data about how pages are used.
How we use it
- To calculate estimated offers, send shipping instructions, inspect devices and pay you.
- To reply to questions and bulk requests.
- To prevent fraud, including checking that devices aren't lost, stolen or locked.
- To improve our site and pricing.
We don't sell your personal information.
Data on your device
Please back up and erase your device before shipping. We securely erase every device we receive and don't access personal data left on it, except as needed to confirm it's erased or unlocked.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us operate, such as shipping carriers, payment providers, email and hosting services, and only as needed for that purpose, or when required by law.
After a completed sale we may show a short public note such as "Sam in TX sold an iPhone 15 for $400" (first name, state, device and amount only). Email us if you'd rather not be included and we'll exclude your sale.
Cookies and analytics
We use a session cookie to keep forms secure. If analytics is enabled, Google Analytics sets cookies to measure site usage. You can block cookies in your browser.
Retention and security
We keep quote and transaction records as long as needed for business, tax and legal purposes, then delete them. We protect data with HTTPS, access controls and limited collection.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information by emailing admin@sellyourimac.com. Residents of some states, including California, have additional rights under state law, which we honor.
Children
Our service is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
